Greetings ,
"You can be a vibrant community. Twine your roots together; twine with the mycelium. Stay
connected!"
This message—received from two young trees in Roy's Redwoods in Northern California a few days after the US election—is one I think of
daily.
Connection with the earth, the trees, and others of like heart—including all of you, whether we've met or not—is one thing sustaining me in these troubled
times.
Like the trees who send water to other trees, even different species, in times of drought, we can share energy, love, and gratitude. That gives us sustaining hope,
healing hope.
Here's what I've noticed: we can spend ten minutes kvetching about the state of the world, as my book agent and I did yesterday, but at the end we don't feel better. Instead,
we've reminded ourselves of many horrid things we would rather erase from our consciousness. We've fed our despair instead of our vision.
On the other hand, when I drum daily for Standing
Rock—the gathered tribes, the waters, the land—my heart opens in connection.
I feel deep gratitude to all those braving cold winds, rubber bullets, and constant harassment (crop dusters and
helicopters flying low over the camp for hours at night).
I experience the grace of the wild—rivers, storms, rumbling herds of buffalo.
I draw in the power at the heart of the universe—creation and destruction, all that is and will be.
I give thanks that we are brave, courageous, feeling humans who stand for the next seven generations and all the living beings. I give thanks that so many of us have committed to shifting our consciousness and creating a world we want to live in.
I give thanks for YOU and all your loved ones!
A Few More Personal Notes of Gratitude I woke yesterday to an email announcing that my book cover won a GOLD STAR in TheBookDesigner.com's October e-Book Cover Design Awards. Remember when you got a gold star in grade school? Well, that's how I felt! They
wrote: "Beautiful image, sophisticated typography. A great cover." Gratitude!
Later that day, I talked to my agent. Findhorn Press in Scotland wants to (re)publish Living in the
Heart of the Universe in 2017. Big gratitude! This will make the book more accessible in print and certainly more available worldwide...and will ease my life. Doing all the marketing yourself is a job in itself, and since that's not my forte, I am happy!
The downside of this is that pretty soon I'll have to stop selling the paperback myself (It hasn't been on Amazon because I was looking for a publisher) as well as the ebook on Kindle. So if
you've been thinking of getting your copy, do so soon. Once we sign a contract, you'll have to wait a whole year.
A lot of readers tell me it's hard to do the many energy and nature-connection practices in the book on their own. If you're not a do-it-yourselfer, I am always happy to encourage and help you out. Set up a free call or an appointment!
Big gratitude to all you readers! Join Me: Talks, Interviews, and Presentations Listen to "Joyful Radiance"

experiential workshop.
Path of Vision or Road of Despair? "It’s not easy to maintain hope in our current climate. Yet shifting from the road of despair to the path of vision works. I know this: When I put aside anxiety and focus on the world I want to live in, my heart opens.
When I vision the world we are dreaming for our descendants, I calm down. When I drum every morning for Standing Rock and clear waters, I connect with the whole. Join me!"
