Everywhere I go, people are stressed and anxious. No one really knows what to do—despite many opinions expressed—about mass killings, rageful delegates, isolationism, chaos, fear.

We can, on the other hand, manage our emotions and reactivity. We can make choices about the ways we act, moment to moment. 

How are you navigating these challenging times?

When you come out of a blissful meditation and are knocked sideways within five minutes, what then?

How do you deflect the anxiety you see in your family, on the road, in the grocery store, in yourself?

If everyone you run into seems overwhelmed, afraid, or in grief, how can you maintain your equanimity?

The wisdom and practice of ancient cultures offer balm and guidance. I draw on them because, like everyone, I don’t have answers. You may “know” these five ways; this is a reminder to put them into practice!
