Welcome the wonderful darkness, keeping us inside! Trees shedding and creating mulch for new plants. Rain and snow watering our parched Earth. Plants storing energy, waiting to emerge. All of us, yearning for being together again even as our bodies want to hibernate and rest.
The season reminds us to shed the old and move inward. In that quiet, internal space, we
can ask three essential questions:
* What is my intent for this quiet time of year?
* What are my hopes for what is emergent?
* How can I use my gratitude to be of service?
You might want to invite some friends to speak your answers together, to support and witness for each other. We did that a few weeks ago in my community, gathering at a local park on a rain-threatening day. All bundled up, we formed a
circle, invoked the directions, and created a sacred space for our listening. Passing a talking stick, and sharing our deepest intent, we took each other's visions into our hearts. We fed our resilience and courage together. And we had a great time!
Empowering the Land: An Invitation
There's a piece of land near me that needs your help. Will you tune in and send it the color it needs, listening for any messages you
receive?
This particular piece of land, a 950 acre State-owned property, is dear to my heart and an icon of the power of collaboration in community.
It's also the site of a wildlife corridor extending from Mendocino to Marin county and home to 1200 identified species. For eight years we have been trying to forge a win-win-win between open space, housing, jobs, and the rural community's need to preserve its character and live in balance with the ecosystem.
Giving this land the colors it needs will empower it, give it more voice. To see how to do this, and find out more about using color for healing, see my blog What Color Does Your Body Need?
Honoring your spiritual connections to the land is an act of love and reciprocity, It feeds your heart and soul every time you take a moment to bless what you love. Our power to affect the world is magnified when we join together. Thank you!
