Greetings ,
When grief, rage, and despair become overwhelming, as they are for so many of us right now, it's hard to face
them. It may seem better to avoid than confront; it may be satisfying to blame. Yet the weight and heaviness of heart remain.
What do shamans do?
We breathe. We find ways (meditation, singing, yoga, walking, gardening) to bring ourselves back to the present moment. We keep aligning ourselves. We find balance. We gather with others to build courage and create ceremony. In our calling—stepping between the worlds, seeing from heart, and bringing balance— we continually renew and feed our interconnections.
Then we are able to sit with whatever is arising and look at it with full hearts and equanimity. We
are able to find compassion. We can listen for guidance and open to what is ours to be and do next.
None of this is easy. Yet it's a lot better than avoidance or denial. I've tried both; spirit has showed me repeatedly that self empowerment comes from
compassion and presence, not rage—however self-righteous.
Believe me, I'd rather be musing on all the other juicy topics I had in mind, but...the sanctity of women's
bodies, the rights of children to live without fear, the triumph of gun owners over our lives, the serious minority threat to the US constitution, along with war, famine, extinction, climate, and basic human dignity—all these issues have overtaken us.
You each have your own ways of finding alignment, balance, and resilience, I hope! And it may be, as events unfold, that you need more courage, more connection, more tools, and more compassion on the
path.
My own regular peer gatherings of heart and spirit are what sustain me. Along with my daily spiritual practices, they help me explore how to live in my heart, with mind as an honored
participant, not a dictator. They help me keep inquiring, with others, how to be heart-guided people at home, at work, in protest, and in prayer.
Of course, all these gatherings are on Zoom, and we all have Zoom fatigue. But we're learned to create good energy fields even on computers, and it enables us to gather, work with, and be sustained by like-hearted people near and far.
By offering Leading with Heart gatherings, I'm offering you a container for building your resilience, so you can shine your light in this troubled world. I'm showing you how to channel grief and rage into courage. I'm helping you explore a worldview of connection and joy so you can live from the biggest space possible. This is likely the only time I'll be offering Leading with Heart live, online.

hiking in three amazing mountain valleys, and getting a taste of county village life. You'll find lots of gorgeous mountain villages and other photo posts, from 6/2 to 6/17, on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/meg.beeler.

Hints for dampening your stress on your own: walk, meditate, gift your dense, heavy feelings back to the earth, breathe consciously, connect with a tree, limit your doses of social media. Honor your heart's wisdom.
